Rose is NOT Pregnant!

Did you REALLY think Shonda would do something like that?

Shout-out to Kate from New York for telling us about this new Grey’s Anatomy promo, wherein Rose (Lauren Stamile) says to Derek (Patrick Dempsey): “I wish there were a good way to say this: I’m carrying your child.”

Want to know exactly what happens in the premiere when Rose drops the bomb from the promo into Derek’s lap? Could Nurse Rose truly be having McDreamy’s baby? (Aaah!)

I’ve got the exclusive dish, so click in to find out about the future of Meredith and McDreamy…

Liar, liar, pants on fire!

My sources tell me that the promo posted above is just plain old pointless torture, because Rose is lying through her pretty white teeth when she tells Derek that she’s having his baby.

Now, why is she lying, and could she get away with it? That remains to be seen, but I can tell you that “Thorn” is just about done causing trouble for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek, because the two-hour season premiere (airing Sept. 25 on ABC at 9 p.m.) is apparently Lauren Stamile’s final appearance with the show.

Source - Watch with Kristin

And from Michael Ausiello…

I just saw the new promo for Grey’s Anatomy in which Rose says she is carrying Derek’s baby. WTF? WTF is right. That little promo caused quote the little firestorm over at ABC yesterday. Not only did it incur the wrath of millions of Rose-weary Mer-Der fans, but it essentially branded one of the network’s most valuable assets (i.e. Shonda Rhimes) a big ol’ liar. You see, in her ABC podcast that followed the show’s finale last May, Rhimes assured fans that Grey’s would not be employing any soap operatic stunts to pull Derek and Meredith apart this season — and she specifically ruled out knocking up Rose. But someone apparently forgot to pass that bit of information on to the folks cutting together that incendiary clip. As a result, Rhimes has been forced to do the unthinkable: Issue an exclusive statement to me that basically denies the very plot twist that ABC shamelessly tried to dangle before us. “I would not deceive our fans,” Rhimes tells me, “especially those loyal enough to listen to our podcast.” Long story short: The only thing Rose will be carrying in the season premiere is a third wheel.

The Roundup, Episode 2

by admin ~ August 30th, 2008

Here’s a few tidbits that I found around the web this week. I’m having an interestingly odd time trying to find the original articles, so I’m just going to paraphrase here.

  • Amy Madigan (who you all will recognize as the psychiatrist) may possibly be back this season. No word on how many episodes or how often, but we’re guessing it won’t be too often.
  • Kate Walsh may be making a return to Seattle Grace this season, but, according to Shonda Rhimes, it has to fit with the stories, and she’s not sure that it is going to quite yet.
  • Speculation is that Izzie’s “love” this season will not be Alex, but rather her daughter.

That’s about all that I could find or remember, so that’s it for this week. 26 days to go until the premiere!

And Here Comes the Onslaught of Angry Fans…

Loading ... Loading ...

Earlier this week, ABC released new promotional cast photos for all of their television show, with one notable exception: Grey’s Anatomy - only the network’s most popular show. So we waited a few extra days thinking they’d appear by, today, Wednesday. Which, they didn’t. So, I e-mailed those fine folks at ABC only to recieve this exact e-mail back:

Since we didn’t have any additions to the regular cast this season, and we’re entering our 5th season, we didn’t shoot new gallery. That happens often with shows after multiple seasons.

Now, I’ll be honest. I’m not happy about it. And I know you aren’t either. I mean, for God’s sake - Desperate Housewives, which has technically been on longer than Grey’s, got new photos. But I do suppose it makes sense. It is depressing and angering and honestly not the best way to start off the new season, but it is what’s happening, and at least we know the truth now. However, by my predictions, we’ll have photos from the season premiere (which still doesn’t have a title!) by next Friday - September 5. So, stay tuned for more updates. And please, try not to be too angry at ABC.

On a side note, I’ve tried to find some information regarding a season four soundtrack, but so far I’ve found nothing. Don’t fret just yet, however, because I remember last year we heard nothing about the soundtrack until almost right before it was released. If anything comes in, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Stay tuned!

New Season Description!

by admin ~ August 20th, 2008
(4 votes, average: 5 out of 5)
Loading ... Loading ...

This means we’ve GOT to be getting closer. I’m predicting we’ll learn the title of the premiere sometime in the next week, get a new promo (with NEW footage) sometime in the next two weeks, and get new photos sometime within the next two weeks. We’re down to just over a month before the show returns! Anyways, here’s the all-new season five description from ABCMediaNet. Unlike last season, which revealed some details we weren’t sure of yet, this season five description doesn’t seem to tell us anything we didn’t already know. Nonethless, it’s interesting.

Recipient of the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Drama Television Series and multiple Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series for the past two years, “Grey’s Anatomy” returns to the ABC Television Network for its fifth season.

Is “happily ever after” possible for Meredith Grey and Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd? With Meredith experiencing a breakthrough in therapy - the realization that she and Derek can be extraordinary together, rather than ordinary apart — she and Derek now face the highs and lows of being a committed couple.

Continuing their first year as residents at Seattle Grace Hospital, Meredith, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev have interns of their own to mentor, including Meredith’s half-sister, Lexie Grey. Lexie has become a roommate and confidante to George O’Malley, who, after divorce with Callie, a breakup with Izzie, and learning that he failed his residency test by only one point, is striving to get both his professional and personal life back on track.

After attending to his girlfriend Rebecca’s mental illness on his own, and revealing that he had gone through this with his own mother, Alex finds solace in Izzie’s arms. Alex must continue through this difficult time, whether or not Izzie remains by his side.

Cristina, having finally won out over her tough-as-nails mentor, Erica, is back on track as a surgeon - but is there a chance for new love in her life as well?

With the encouragement of Mark “McSteamy” Sloan, Dr. Callie Torres has taken a chance on love with cardiothoracic surgeon, Erica Hahn; now, she and Erica must figure out what happens after the first kiss.

Overseeing the residents is the no-nonsense Chief Resident, Miranda Bailey. Facing marital troubles and the difficulty of balancing her work and personal life, Bailey has handed her responsibilities as head of the free clinic over to Izzie. Also striving for balance is Chief of Surgery, Richard Webber, who has reunited with his estranged wife, Adele.

The doctors of Seattle Grace Hospital deal with life-or-death consequences on a daily basis - it’s in one another that they find comfort, friendship and love. Together they’re discovering that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white. Real life only comes in shades of grey.

Romance, Romance, and More Romance…

by admin ~ August 20th, 2008
(2 votes, average: 5 out of 5)
Loading ... Loading ...

It looks like this season is going to be all about the romance on Grey’s Anatomy. (Although, when is it not?) Here’s a new article from Watch with Kristin on Mark, Meredith, and Izzie.

McSteamy may be McSettling!

This is one fascinating little nugget of scoopery I gleaned from a one-on-one talk with the always intriguing Eric Dane, who hinted at a big romance coming up for his character in the upcoming season on Grey’s Anatomy.

Want to know the details he shared and what’s up with Izzie’s and Meredith’s love lives, too?

Of course you do!

McSteamy Finding the McOne? Spoiler alert! The always steamy Eric Dane hinted that Dr. Mark Sloane might finally meet his romantic match this year. “I think he’s going to [find real love] this season,” Eric told me. “I don’t know how long that’s going to last. The nature of the show is people don’t stay together very long. We always end up getting back together, and then we break up again, then we get back together again—but I think this year he’s going to find somebody.”

Now, the money question: Is it someone we know? “I hope so,” Eric said with his signature, mischievous grin, making me think it is most definitely someone we’ve already met. Any guesses?

Another source told me that McSteamy and Lexie (Chyler Leigh) share a scene in episode three, which is shooting now, and then I got to thinking: He’s single, she’s single, he’s McSteamy, she’s Meredith’s sister, the Grey girls love their McDoctors, hmmm…I got it: Double McGrey wedding for the series finale!

OK, clearly I’m getting ahead of myself and could be 100 percent off base here (and most likely I am), so please help me out with your theories below!

The Many Loves of Izzie Stevens: Meanwhile, what are we to make of Shonda Rhimes‘ statement to TV Guide this week that “Izzie’s (Katherine Heigl) got a love story—and it’s a big one, one that I’ve been kicking around in my head for a bit, one that required me to take a huge leap of faith in myself, one that is so secret that I have not told anyone. Not the writers, not anyone.” Could that possibly herald an appearance by the biological daughter Izzie put up for adoption when she was a teenager? I had heard long ago that that storyline would most definitely resurface, because nobody said “love story” had to mean romance, right?

Then again, there’s always this…

Tag Team: From what I’ve heard, many of the medical stories this season involve couples whose relationships could shed light on Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) situation. In one case, when a wife throws a remote control at her man, the resulting examination of his skull reveals a tumor. I suspect Meredith will learn a little something by the end of the episode about arguments in long-term relationships that applies to fight night at the McMansion. In particular, I think the lesson is, you know, “Use your words!”

And here’s a few new tidbits from Kristin and Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly

What’s the latest on the whole “Izzie gets a brain tumor” rumor? It’s been replaced by the completely new “Izzie falls for the deer whose life she saved last season” rumor. Think I’m nuts? Check out what Shonda Rhimes just told TV Guide: “Izzie’s got a love story — and it’s a big one, one that I’ve been kicking around in my head for a bit, one that required me to take a huge leap of faith in myself, one that is so secret that I have not told anyone. Not the writers, not anyone.” What else could it be, right? The only other thing I can think of is that she hooks up with her estranged daughter’s adoptive father. Nah, it’s gotta be the deer.

Kristin, you have to get on the Grey’s set to see the McMansion! Thanks for the news they are building it. Any more scoop? You’re welcome. Just to clarify, though, I’m hearing that the new house set for Meredith and Derek has not been built yet, but it is something they are planning for this season. And you know if there’s any way I can get to that house to bring them a welcome basket of muffins (and maybe some superglue for you Mer-Der fans?), I will so be there! Regardless, Mer-Der is looking tight in the new season, so I see no reason to worry…yet.

The Roundup, Episode 1

by admin ~ August 15th, 2008

Loading ... Loading ...

Here’s a new feature we’ll start, well…now. It’s basically going to be a round-up of spoilers and news and tibits that I find around the web that aren’t big enough to warrant their own post, but are interesting to take note of. This means that what you read is probably a few days old by the time it makes it to The Roundup, but, hey. It’s a good refresher course.

Please, any new scoop from Grey’s Anatomy? The green-eyed monster has once again reared its ugly head on the show’s set, but this time it’s not salary drama or spin-off envy fueling the rancor: It’s those lucky bastards in dermatology! An upcoming episode will find some of our favorite residents wandering over to Seattle Grace’s never-before-seen dermatology department — and they will not be happy with what they find. Namely, the kind of posh work environment more consistent with a five-star spa than a hospital. [The Ausiello Files]

What about some Grey’s Anatomy love for the older kids at the hospital? Gladly. Chief Webber (James Pickens Jr.) is going to be whipping the staff into shape when the hospital starts to slip in the national rankings as one of the best teaching hospitals in the country. Seattle Grace not running smoothly? Maybe that’s because all the doctors have time for are “cat naps” in the on-call room. I gotta get me a j-o-b at Seattle Grace! [Watch with Kristin]

Thanks for the juicy Mer-Der housing update! Speaking of that, are Yang and Torres still going to be living together next season on Grey’s Anatomy? My Grey’s spies told me that prestrike there was going to be a little Three’s Company action going on with Hahn, Torres and Yang. Now that Callica has been established, will the lovebirds be moving in together? And who is the Jack Tripper in this interesting living arrangement? [Watch with Kristin]

The MerDer House

by admin ~ August 6th, 2008

Loading ... Loading ...

Here’s some WAY exciting news from Kristin at E! Online. I’m not exactly sure how Shonda’s going to work it, but, to be honest, I could care less! Read on for this really exciting tidbit!

This just makes me giddy: Spies connected with the McDreamiest show around, Grey’s Anatomy, have just reported back with news of a very cool location change for the upcoming fifth season that may reveal a squeal-worthy detail about what’s ahead for Meredith and Derek. (Read only if you want to know!)

I’m told that the set for Seattle Grace Hospital has moved to another soundstage (previously occupied by The Shield) at Prospect Studios in Los Angeles. And back at the original soundstage, they have built…drumroll, please…

The McMansion!

OK, so it’s not really a “mansion,” per se, and I’m pretty sure Daddy Warbucks won’t be handing out Christmas treats. (And it probably looks nothing like the photo above.) But according to sources, the original Grey’s soundstage has been turned into a lovely home that will be occupied by one Dr. Derek Shepherd, aka Patrick Dempsey, and….hmmm, I wonder who his roommate will be?

You may remember that as of last May’s season finale, Derek had a beautiful plot of land that he offered up to Meredith for their dream house, and Meredith finally came ’round and offered up a beautiful floor plan (made out of candles). So something tells me Mer and Der will most definitely be shacking up in their dream house this season, and we’re gonna see plenty of their domestic…ummm…bliss? Tribulations? Fascinating home-improvement tips?

What ever it is, remember Grey’s boss Shonda Rhimes is jazzed about it, as she told us: “I’m really actually excited about [Meredith and Derek] being together because I feel like what I wanted you to leave with last season is Meredith standing in that field, having done this incredible thing, and the look on her face is a little bit like, ‘Oh my God, now I actually have to do this.’”

Get Excited

by admin ~ July 30th, 2008
(3 votes, average: 5 out of 5)
Loading ... Loading ...

Shonda Rhimes, the best person, like, EVER did an interview! With Kristin from E! You know it’s got to be good. It makes me LOADS more excited for season five. September 25, why must you be so far away?!

Grey’s Anatomy: What’s in Store for Season Five

Where is the story taking us next season?
I think a lot of the focus is going to be on the five core interns we’ve gotten to know—who aren’t interns anymore—George (T.R. Knight), Izzie (Katherine Heigl), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Alex (Justin Chambers) and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). I really want to focus on them as they deal with the next step in their training. We’re also going to spend a lot of time with Mark (Eric Dane), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Erica (Brooke Smith) and see their interactions.

Grey’s Anatomy Relationships: Meredith & Derek, the Original and Still the Best

On to MerDer, are you tired of talking about them?
I was until I got them together, and now it’s a whole new world. There’s a whole host of other problems that come with Meredith and Derek being together, and a whole host of other storylines, drama and excitement. So I’m really actually excited about them being together, because I feel like what I wanted you to leave with last season is Meredith standing in that field, having done this incredible thing, and the look on her face is a little bit like, “Oh my God, now I actually have to do this.” That’s important.

Is it more fun for you to write them together?
Absolutely. It was a real challenge to figure out how to get them together…how to get Meredith to the place where she was healthy enough to make this step with Derek. Now that she’s made the step with Derek, it’s really exciting to see what’s going to come next and how she’s going to deal with living with a boy, and all the things a man like Derek, who has been married and is a grown-up, might expect.

MerDer is living together? Are they living in Derek’s trailer or in Meredith’s house?
That you’ll have to watch and see.

Is Rose going to be a thorn in MerDer’s side?
I don’t necessarily think that she’s a troublemaker for their relationship in the beginning.

Grey’s Anatomy Relationships: Callie & Erica, the Newest Romance

Callie and Erica are going to be a couple next season, are they going to come out to the masses?
Eventually that’s going to play out. I feel like the important thing is that at the end of the season, Callie kissed a girl. We’re going to watch that part of it play out: Did she mean to kiss a girl? What does it mean that she’s kissed a girl? Is she excited about it? What does it mean for Erica? We don’t really know Erica’s side of the story yet in terms of what’s going on with the two of them. Then we’re going to watch the larger world of what happens when the two of them come out of the hospital, and what happens when Callie’s dad (Hector Elizondo) finds out. I think it’s going to be really interesting because I think it’s very different to go from being 19 and declare this, and be a grown woman and declare this, when your family’s already thought something else.

Will this season be a journey for them to discover their sexuality?
They are definitely on a journey, and it’s going to be a really interesting one. It’s funny, the writers are really excited about it, and we spend a lot of hours talking about how we’re going to do it, and what we’re going to do, and what might the problems be, and the emotional aspects of it, and the fun that we can have with it.

It seems like they have great onscreen chemistry. Was that a driving force in getting them together?
There is chemistry there, but also both actresses are so game; they’re so willing to do something. Sara is such a fabulously comedic actress and has so much to give, and post-George I felt like she was searching for something. Callie and Erica together seem to have a lot of chemistry and dynamic. We really did start them out as being friends and it felt like there was something more there with them; the same kind of chemistry that I saw between Cristina and Burke (Isaiah Washington) before Christina and Burke got together.

Grey’s Anatomy Relationships: Alex & Izzie, Heating Up?

We last saw Alex and Izzie getting hot and steamy, in a depressing sort of way. What’s next for them?
I think you’re going to see a lot of really interesting sparks between the two of them.

Is there any truth to that rumor about Izzie having a brain tumor this season?
No.

Grey’s Anatomy: Meet the New Kidd

Kevin McKidd has a built-in McName. What’s he going to be doing on the show?
He’s going to be playing Owen Hunt, who is a military doctor that comes to the hospital on leave.

He just happens to show up to a hospital where everyone falls for each other? Hmmm…Who is he going for?
I think Cristina might find him fairly interesting.

A Quick Update

by admin ~ July 25th, 2008

I just got a quick update on Grey’s Anatomy from one of their publicists. Apparently, they are still shooting the two-hour season premiere, so we’re a ways off from getting any new information (read: promos, photos, anything new). My guess? Expect all that kind of stuff sometime late next month. Although I’m hoping that the title will be released soon.
